The first ever Kids Rock Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament (KRKCI) is kicking off in the Okanagan Valley August 27th - 31st 2008, with the purpose of raising funds for the Children's Wish Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society’s Camp Goodtimes, and the Kelowna General Hospital.

Celebrities expected to attend include Mario Lemieux, Suzie McNeil, Rex Linn, Dennis Haysbert, Greg Itzin, Meat Loaf, T. Bubba Bechtol, Mike Reno, totaling around 40 expected stars and professional athletes in all.

Founder of the charity event, Andy Buckner, spent two years battling cancer and wanted to help improve the lives of children with an illness. While attending a celebrity Golf Tournament in January 2008, Andy decided to create the Kids Rock Celebrity Golf Tournament, and hopes to raise $100,000 for the charitable causes.

Sponsors are offered the opportunity to contribute to our community and gain recognition, while enjoying three world-class days of golf, celebrities, exquisite food, wine and entertainment hosted by The Cove Lakeside Resort and The Rise Golf Resort.
